News on upcoming book release and more

August 12, 2021 By E.G. Michaels

Hi,

It’s indie author E.G. Michaels. I know it’s been a long time coming but I finally have a new book to announce!

After hearing from my alpha readers, editors, and proofreader, I have a clearer idea of when book 4 of the Wretched series, Wretched Aftermath, will be ready for release.

As a result, I’ve put the book up on Amazon for pre-order here:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09BLDQRPQ

Wretched Aftermath is now available on pre-order and will release on September 23rd.

Best case scenario, my team (editors, proofreader, and me) will get the book done a little earlier in September and I can move the release date up a little.

If not, the book will released on September 23rd.

The “dead tree” version of Wretched Aftermath will be released around the same time. More info on this closer to the release date.

The wonderful Brian Callanan will also be back as the narrator for Wretched Aftermath. No estimated release date on the audiobook yet but I’ll announce it once I have more info.

E.G. Michaels Street Team News

As I’ve done with previous releases, I’ve asked some of my loyal readers to help with spreading the word.

I call this group my Street Team. (If you’re not a street team member and want to learn more about it, then go here: http://egmichaels.com/join-e-g-michaels-street-team-today/ )

I’ll have advanced copies of Wretched Aftermath for you at some point prior to the actual book release date.

I’ll be following up with you sometime in early September with more information in a separate email.

What’s E.G. Working On Now

Over the next month, most of my focus will be on Wretched Aftermath. I’ll reviewing all suggestions from my alpha readers, editors, and proofreader. This is part of the normal process that authors always do prior to a new book release.

The day job is still chewing up most of my working hours, so there’s that.

I’m also doing a second round of world-building for my next post-apocalyptic book series.

No, I’m not going to say what the series is called, reveal any cover art, or mention what it’s about right now.

That’s all fun news for a future update from me. 😊

Book 1 of that series is already about one-third written. So the additional time spent on world-building will help me create a stronger series. And in theory, make it a bit easier to write too.

I’m still going to write more books in the Wretched series. I have a rough outline and cover art already done for Wretched book 5.

But this new series will be worked into my yearly schedule as well.

It’s been my experience that after writing a number of books in a row for the same series, the characters start feeling a little stale to me. Then I need to write something else for a while to recharge my creative batteries.

That may have been part of why Wretched Aftermath took so long for me to write. Plus I wrote myself into a few corners that burned up a lot of time to figure out how the hell to get myself out of said corner in the book.

By alternating which series I’m writing, it should help the story ideas stay fresh and exciting for me… which will result in a fresh and exciting books for my readers.

That’s all for now.

Until next time,

E.G.
